KAMP Assessment Levels

LEVEL 1 : Knowledge and Awareness Mapping

LEVEL 2 : Scientific Process Skill Test (SPST)

LEVEL 1 : Knowledge and Awareness Mapping

Level 1 provides an important framework and is used to focus on higher order thinking skills. By providing a hierarchy of levels, this level can assist in designing performance tasks, crafting questions for conferring with students, and providing feedback on student work.

This resource is divided into different levels each with Keywords that exemplify the level and questions that focus on that same critical thinking level. Questions for Critical Thinking can be used to develop all levels of thinking within the cognitive domain. The results will be improved attention to detail, increased comprehension and expanded problem solving skills. Keywords are used as guides for structuring questions and tasks. Indicators I and II map the Awareness level and Indicators III-VI map knowledge level of students.

The six indicators are:

Remembering
Indicator02

LEVEL 2 : Scientific Process Skill Test (SPST)

Science Process Skills “SPS” are some basic abilities that students should have for the benefit of conceptual information and principles. Science process skills are the skills used while doing silence. It has been argued that scientists’ inventions depend on their ability of using a variety of important skills. These skills are assessed to capture the scientific attitude among students. Carin and Bass described science process skills as the skills that scientists use for solving and explaining the secrets of the universe, form the basis of thinking and used for solving problems related with science and the other fields.

Science process skills are the basic skills that captures the scientific temperament among students and facilitate learning in science, provide students to be more active and enhance the sense of taking responsibility for their own learning, increase the permanency of learning and also gain ways and methods of research.

Gaining these basic skills changes the approach to problems that faced with in lifetime. Science process skills are very important for meaningful learning, because learning continues in lifetime and while life is continuing human beings need to find out, interpret and trial the evidences under different conditions.

SPS key indicators are:
Indicator01
Precision
Indicator02
Observation
Indicator03
Inquisitivity
Indicator04
Ability to Predict
Indicator05
Communication Skills
Indicator06
Creativity
Indicator07
